7am – were up to start with Sad hearts. The 2 family’s weve enjoyed caravaning with are all moving on and we won’t cross paths again. Last night I mentioned next week was Tanyas birthday and I wanted to do something special so to our surprise young James McDonald (who I take fishing all the time) had gotten up early and used the camp kitchen microwave to bake Tanya a cake! She almost cried. I take a group drone photo and there off.
We kick back and have a late breakfast.
11am – Arrive at the Aquarium just in time for the the last tour. They run for 1.5 hours by qualified marine biologists. 2 girls take it in turns running the tour and bar before the stop tours during lunch. There is a restaurant so it gets busy at that time. The kids love the tour. Shark feeding, turtle feeding and open tanks with some seriously dangerous fish in them which they also feed for us. Stone fish create excruciating pain that lasts 80 hours. 1 local has been stung 8 times and thinks you build up a slight tolerance. You need to submerge the affected area in 50 degree +++ hot water for any relief.
I buy the kids fish identification posters and we head back to decorate the bunk beds in the van.
4pm – stroll through town
6pm – chicken wraps for dinner
Early night
