Today is a recharge day for me. Long towing trips realy drain your brain. So Tan and I have decided what we’re going to do with our van when we get home.
1. Completely empty it , clean it and take it to Regent for a service and show them the few things that have never worked.
2. Go to the camping and caravan show and find some to make us a custom awning addition and also a pull out BBQ. Setting up and packing down the Webber every time sucks. Here are some examples and sketches of what we’re going to do.
There is only 2 things on the agenda today. Walk trails and gather wood. We start with grilled cheese tastiest then do the creek walk. I love these red river gums. They have tapped into the under ground river system and turned into monsters. Ive photographed them all for a collage in Nungurner.
So next were onto wood. I get out the chain saw which hasn’t been started in 2 years and she fires up straight away. There’s slim pickings so I try next to the train tracks and there plenty. Considering we’re inbthe rail corridor I tell the boys we better be quick just encase a train comes and what do you know, a train comes. Jetts shits himself. I wish we had a copy of stand by me to watch. We let the train go by and move spots. Leo finds an old sleeper bolt
We get back and do another walk. This one I nice and elevated. Same one chew Adz and I did at the start of stage 2.
Today was the most satisfying temperature and weather of the hole trip. What a great day off.
We have steak and fire roasted potatoes with cheese and butter for dinner. YUM!
