- We visit the Museum of the Moon in the Atrium at Fed Square
- Justin (Windy Wheelahan) and the family set out to the Van Gogh multi media style exhibition. Very inspirational. Loved the projections and the ‘quotes’.
- We make a one off SLIM C RADII for Matty!
- Hook Pauly up with a sick roof top tent for his Defender (AIRTOP). We get Eyad to wire in an Anderson 12v and through in a back up battery with a full size MyCoolman fridge/freezer in anticipation of our Eden fishing trip.
- I pick Jett up from school (house carnival) and we hit the road straight to Nungurner to prep for East holidays.
- We get the Van packed and ready to go. Head off a day late as Eden is pissing rain agin and were all a bit exhausted to leave straight away.
- Jessie girl goes to stay at a kennel “Shelby’s place’ in Metung.
EDEN
- Get to Eden (its raining!) and set the new clear acrylic Poddy Traps straight away. The one down the road doesn’t produce but the one out the front of our camp site is full. Then the trailer blows a tier just as we get back from collecting the other trap. Luck we weren’t towing.
- Next day is a beauty. We hit Lake WOMBOYN and hit the bottom!. Lake is super dirty from all the rain and so shallow i can barley get around. We set the live baits out and start a drift. BAG, there biting but were not hooking up. Hmmmm???. Pauly loves his new roof top tent.
- We get Deep Ship out into the open ocean but its blowing hard and the swell pushes us back in 30 minuets. So we go for a drive into Marimbula. Oh and its pissing rain again!!!.
- Next day were up early and the hit the open ocean again. NO RAIN thanks Eden. I try a few spots ive researched and were ON. variety of reef fish and flathead. Then i try the deep with no luck. Pauly hooks a massive shark but it breaks off on his old mono line. Were starting to find our MOJO.
- Next day we hit it early again. This time Leo brings the good luck in the deep. Were in! I bring in 2 King fish over 65cms and were doing double headers of snapper! Its great. Now we now why Eden is such a fishing destination.
- We get back early enough to go back to Marimbula and hit ‘Magic Mountain’ . We get there with an hour of play (why close at 4pm on a school holiday?). We all run around and squeeze in a few rides. I cook fresh snapper for dinner with Cauliflower fried rice (shh don’t tell Jett).
- Last day and Jett hasn’t come for a fish so were up at 5:30am. We get out super early and BANG were in again. Snapper Galore. We have to be out of the Caravan Park by 10am so we call it quits at 8am. LOOKING FORWARD TO COMMING BACK! the trip saw Tan miss out a fair bit so I’m inspired to shop for a new boat that can take everyone safely out in the open ocean , including HUGO.
- We get back to Nungurner and try a fish Curry with the Kingfish. Yum. Pauly hits the road. Cheers Bro.
EASTER
- Denise and Helen join us in Nungurner for a 4 day Easter long weekend.
- The Yacht squadron sails past on for the regatta.
- Leo and i replant for winter Veg and we go to Mark and Miranda’s for his 50th.
- Easter morning and the hunt is on! Hugo in the basket with the eggs.
- I start setting up for a RABBIT proof fence around the Robata hedge that’s still getting smashed.
- I change the swing into rings and put the hammock back up under the tree house. The kids have a ball.
- I Quietly start negotiations for a new Boat after Tan agrees it would be better to have a new boat the whole family could all fit on and enjoy ALL at the same time. MERRY FISHER 695 SPORT SERIE2: THE CLEVER SUV!
- JT comes over with wild picked Pine field mushrooms and we cook up a feast for dinner, while i set up a camera to see what’s eating my hedge. The trap is set (fresh plants WABITS)!
- Stop at ‘East Handy Store’ for lunch then back home to the big smoke.
- 2 days to get all my samples together and were off to DUBAI – DAR(C)-SESSIONS
DUBAI
- I’m packed and ready to leave then head off to the GASO to see Windy’s son Pat play live after a 2 week school of rock holiday. Zev is his teacher!
- Adz picks us up and takes us to the airport and were off. Smash the Qantas club followed by the top deck bar on the A380.
- I haven’t traveled OS for 2.5 years so its a slight culture shock.
- We get to the resort. The intercontinental 80kms out of DUBAI! that’s deliberate by the organizers to keep all the clients there for the one on one meetings. It works. apart from us who have come in early for a DUBAI full day shopping session and a fishing charter on the tail end.
- I go a bit silly in the PAUL SMITH shop and restock my wardrobe. We have lunch somewhere nice then head back to hit the pool. What a day 1. Crash hard and have 10 hours sleep.
- The rest of the trip is epic. I average 3 hours sleep a night! Matty and I do 21 meetings in 2 days. Were ruined. We make a huge impact on everyone. People that missed out seeing us request Zoom Meetings for next week when were back in Australia. We should start seeing export sales start to jump pretty fast.
- Last day on 3 hours sleep and were up at 5am to go fishing. We go straight out from DUBAI and hit massive QUEEN FISH all morning followed by a boat tour. We have an afternoon nap then fly out at 2am.
- Back home and im straight back into it. APS SPORTS and all. What an APRIL to remember.
