• April fools’ day! I pick up JT and head to Bunnings to buy plants for the 1st feature garden bed in Nungurner. We try to stick to Christine Jenkins plant list which is exotic to say the least. We grab a cube of mushroom compost and start planting.  Then we have a charcoal cook up with the Radford’s.
  • I do a lighting design for Pauls new client, and we decide to stay an extra night!
  • We loss Pauls CAT (Boots)!
  • Sothern Cross Station meeting
  • Leo does the colour run
  • Chewy and I finish season one of the BLINDED comic strip.
  • Good Friday at home in Collingwood. Fish feast.
  • Tan, Leo and I do Yum Cha followed by Marry Poppins the musical.
  • Easter egg hunt at Keele St
  • I start getting all the caravan gear out of storage ready for the Eden fishing trip. No Caravan this year so were camping. Except for Tanya and Hugo in a creek side cabin.
  • Easter in the city pays off. Were all relaxed and happy while the rain comes pouring in all long weekend.  Sad for all the campers out there in Victoria.  Tanyas says “it was the best easter ever”!
  • Carols 80th at ???? in the Crowne Plaza hotel
  • Quick factory tour for Carol and Don the next day then we hit the road for Nungurner. The Ambulant Goods lift gets its 1st wheelchair trial. Don loves the factory. He hasn’t seen it since Dom and I were in Sussex inlet 4 years earlier when I showed it to him on A3 paper plans.
  • I make stripped trumpeter fish cakes.
  • We do the Aqa run inflatable at Lakes Entrance Aqua swimming pool.

EDEN

  • Were in the same 2 spots as last year right on the creek near the beach.  I get the fire pit out along with the half ton of wood I bought and get straight into open fire camping. Love it.
  • Up at 5am to figure out Pauls car doesn’t have a break controller and cant tow the boat trailer! We miss the dawn fish but get out there anyway. Nothing worth keeping DAY 01. We must be back on time to get to lunch at Wheelers with Doug and Jane in Merimbula. Love that place.  We visit ???? place afterwards which is right on the golf course. You literally walk out the back door onto the fair way.
  • I do Wagu steaks and Veg on the open fire.
  • We try to get out to the Shelf, but the north easterly sends us back. We pump for nippers instead and I get nipped a beaty! We just beat a nasty storm and make it back to get the fire roaring. Saganaki?
  • I wake up sick with a head cold I think I caught from Hugo. We head for inland waters and take the boat to Merimbula with Jansen and my family’s. Its safer for the kids. We catch pinkies and have toasties on the boat. It so shallow I have to putt putt along. I go for a swim to try and wash the sickness away.
  • Jansen takes us out for dinner at the local Eden Chinese called Golden OCean. Its run by some Kiwis and its great food! Good find Jansen.
  • Im up but still sick. Jansen heads home and I take a day off. We pump for nippers again and let all the kids use them back at the caravan park. Paul catches a nice Brim in the creek right out the front on dusk and we put it straight on the open fire. Jett eats the whole thing!
  • Next day we go bottom bashing not too far out while I still recover from this illness. We catch snapper and some weird Sargent ????
  • Next day we head for THE SHELF. Its ok as we head out but when we get there the wind is up and I’m getting worried. We start trawling anyway then suddenly the wind dies down and its manageable. We trawl for about 15 minuets then BAG, tuna ON. We pull in 2 striped tuna at 3.1KGS each. There are babies but thrilling fun non the less. Dolphins join us a few times.
  • We hit the Chinese again for dinner as im swaying in my seta and cant cook.
  • Next day I pack the entire camp down single handed as Jett has a sour wrist and Paul has gone fishing.
  • On the way back to Nungurner one of the straps breaks on the trailer. Hugo checks it out for me.
  • When we get back Jets sour wrist turns out to be a small fracture and Bone Buckle that ruins his start to the basketball season. He was showing off doing back flips on the bouncing pillow at the caravan park just before we left.
  • Leo and I test out the new fire pit in Nungurner and I make mega shasliks for dinner.
  • I start the epic clean of the boat and pack away all the gear.
  • We go for a hick in Log crossing then head back to Melbourne.
  • Anzac Day footy is amazing. Collingwood comes back from 24 points down at 3 quarter time to win by 13 points! Its an official attendance record of 95,179 people. Tanya loved it.
  • Off to Sydney with a 1 hour delay. We go to Western Sydney airport, visit heaps of clients and pull in some serious work. Love ya work Matty.
  • I get home and get the fire going in Jets room.
  • Jennifer Alan is diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. SAD.
  • Lunch with Tammie and Luke.
  • I cook up a weeks’ worth of food.
