  2. I take the boys for a dog walk to Waterloo that turns into an adventure. We walk so far, we have to catch the train home.
  3. I get fat face again and Luke comes over to hang out. We get fish n chips for the family.
  4. Fathers day breakfast in bed followed by Yum Cha at the oriental tea house. Very nice modern twist.

  1. I go into overdrive on the mezzanine ground floor. Sanding walls ready for airless spray painting of the roof in mat black. I work a 12 hour day and it hurts! im getting old.
  2. Leo starts drum lessons with Mark.
  3. I strip down old Dexian and have in powder coated black. Aiming to finish the picked parts area during my mad push on the GF mezzanine. This is all before a hold 3 factory tours next week.
  4. I catch up with NB again (Nic Burnham) at our Favorite bar Geralds. He’s off on 8 weeks holiday next week.  The garfish is amazing!
  5. The Clean Room Benches are nearing completion so we have a smoking ceremony. 10 KGS of chicken legs in the smoker please.
  6. As im backing Matty up with Sydney sales I go and get measured up for new shirts with Bobbys Fashion at the Langham.
  7. Collingwood has its 1st qualifying final against Melbourne on a Thursday night. Matty and I give up our tickets I leu of a table with SKS. Maynard knocks out Angus Brayshaw in a contested marking competition and could miss the finals if suspended. Collingwood WIN in front of 93,636 people so we get a week off next week and jump straight past the semi finals to the preliminary finals.

  1. I work from home Friday morning while Tan runs some errands. I then race into work slightly hung over. I start by hanging all the comic strip art work on the freshly painted walls then push to get the track lighting up and installed before the weekend. I pull it off. What a week. The gallery looks amazing and the clean room is so close. Ive set a deadline for Monday to move in before factory tours.
  2. Jett plays water polo, then I go to negotiate a deal on electric scooters. Jett’s worked hard all term and gets his before his birthday to use on school holidays.
  3. I take Hugo shopping down Smith Street in his cart.
  4. Leo and I buy a cake for Nannys 77th birthday tonight at Marmara.   I try to set up Nannys computer but don’t have admin access. Diner is amazing. Happy Birthday mum.
  1. Last session with Ben from FFT.
  2. Leo and I re-plant the veggie patch out the back at Keele St.
  3. I take Chris for a mental health day out fishing in western port bay. We catch reef fish and throw it all back. Good to see chris is happy again and dealing with the loss of 1 eye! He shows me how to get free car washes and we wax the boat after a clean-up. I drive all the way back to Broady and finish on a 14 hour day. It’s nice to have the boat and caravan together at DARKON, I’m exhausted.
  4. Huge pulls out so Matt and I take Oli out for lunch @ https://www.meatmaiden.com.au/
  5. I buy a bass amp and MXR bass chorus deluxe for the 1st week of school holidays with Windy and Pat (both musicians)
  6. CIBI with Hugo Leo and Nanny. Hugo wont eat his own food and decides to eat mine of the plate like a dog.  Then we go and pick up 4 x scooters with the tool trailer. Leo finds one for ages 10+ so we get one for Leos birthday too.
  7. I buy up some weird and wonderful Japanese ingredients for JT and Brass.
  8. Luke comes over to watch the footy. I get a call from Jett. He’s just been rolled for his scooter. I jump in the car with Luke and we go on the hunt. I overshoot the turn off to Perry st (where it happened) and back up to make the turn. Who would have though someone heading in the other direction turns in behind me and BANG. I have my 1st car accident in 25 years and back into his door.
  9. Next day were off to Nungurner for the 1st week of school holidays (Dad, Jett, Pat and Justin).  We stop by JT and I catch up with Luka Brass after 10 + years in exile since he stole my Jordan air ones.
  10. We get to NUNGURNER and start Jamming. Were having so much fun.
  11. Next day JT and Brass drop past, and we get the charcoal going.
  12. Day after its blow a heavy northerly but a decide to launch the boat anyway. On the way to lakes boat ramp, I tree branch blows down and hits the bonnet of the range rover. 2 claims in 2 days! Its 30 degrees so we have a swim.
  13. Metung pub for lunch then Pat and I make some steps to the lower ground car park which have be washed away in heavy rain.
  14. Jordy comes over and we go fishing. Justin try’s out driving the boat.
  15. We leave Friday so im back in time for the footy. Pat crashes the buggy just as we leave then gets car sick on the way home. What a week boys.
  16. On the way home Helen has a memory relapse and can’t remember anything. I send in Andrew Allan to help as he’s just been there (which mum can’t remember). Then I take him to the footy finals, Collingwood V GWS. It’s a thriller and we win by 1 point. Bittersweet as we lost by 1 point at this round last year to Sydney!

  2. Next morning after the footy (23rd Sept) I wake up with the biggest FAT FACE ever. Stress from yesterday (mums memory loss) has hit home.  Doesn’t stop me having a father son day with Leo. We start with walk in the park with Jessie followed by a scooter ride along the St Kilda foreshore. Leo has an accident so call it quits and head for Luna Park. We have a great day.
  3. Hugo has had Gastro for the last few days and finally has a massive spew on the rug. I buy a gernie and get to work cleaning the wool rug.
  4. Now Leo gets Gastro and boy its bad. Coming out both ends. Then Tan gets it to so I take Hugo for the day and stay as far away from the bug as possible.
  5. Monday we head back to Nungurner. Helen decides to drive and arrives ahead of us. Doug and Janie join us too. I’m certain the Gastro is behind us and I’ve made a miraculous dodge of the bug.  We stop at Bunning Bairnsdale to get seedlings as I’ve decided to resurrect the veggie patch.
  6. We rock the charcoal grill every night until rain arrives and then BOOM, I get the dreaded Gastro. Im down and out for 18hours. Then Doug gets it and just as Helen arrives home ahead of us she gets it too. That’s a full sweep of the board for GASTRO.
  7. We head back a day before the Grand final. Were pumped and grateful were all over the Gastro.

GRAND FINAL DAY

  • There is a heavy northly blowing and my hay fever kicks in straight away. A quick scooter supply run and Matt shows up with Logan for pre game breakfast.  We head off just after 11am so we can beat the crowds and get in all the pre game entertainment.  KISS has replaced CROWDED HOUSE. There in town for there final gig before retirement.    The atmosphere is electric and what a game. No more then 2 goals in it the whole way through. Lead changes and spectacular footy. Collingwood are up by 10 points with 2 minuets to go then Brisbane kick a goal, then get a free on the line to take the win however the crowd is so load they plan on and we get possession back. We hold up play to win by 4 points! There saying it was the best grand final since the 1989 final when Hawthorn defeat Geelong by 6 points.
  • Matt heads home and i go over to Adams and set up on the balcony and keep the party rolling. WHAT AN AMAZING DAY and end to September. HOT PIES.
