7am – we survived the gale force winds. Breakfast on the recliners in the shade of the trees and we decided to hit the road for Kalbarri. Id like to get going ASAP to.avoid the winds while I drive but I have tyer problems. I didn’t top them up with the aircompressor when exiting the national park. I try my one that won’t put more than 25psi in! The Denham servo doesn’t have one and the IGAs has been brocken for a while. Im told to go back out to the entrance to the park! I get back to tell tanya and ask our neighbour who is about to leave. He lends me his. Lost an hour messing around with tyer pressure!. Lesson: always test your tools befor you go.
11am – were on the road. Tanya has FOMO from a dessert photo shoot we bypassed on the way in so we decided to stop at ever look out as we leave shark bay. Glad we did. Every bay is amazing.
Goulet bluff
Shell beach
1pm – we pull off the highway into Hamalen Pool for Lunch. This time the flies are on an epic scale. Tan takes a walk and I fly the drone from the car while the kids eat lunch. This place has Microbial mats that are the oldest living eco system in the world. They survived mass extinction and brought back oxygen into the air recreating life 3,500 million years ago. Basicly Living fossils. No swimming allowed.
4.45pm – arrive and set up. We see the McDonald’s for the last time as they pack down.
6pm – quick fish
7.30pm – steak dinner and an early night. No rummikub as were all to tiard.
Great sleep.
