Surprise its still raining. So we’re going to drive to Albany and do in door activities until it clears up. No picnic lunch today were heading for a pub.
We hit the info centre and make a 2 day plan. It’s already getting late so we head for the earl of Spencer which is named after my great great great grand pa sir Richard Spencer that founded Albany. Naturally I take the pie that comes with a pint of Guiness.
Then we head for the lookout next to the National Anzac centre.
The museum is small but realy well designed. You get a random card of a soldier and an ear piece and follow there world war one story. Did you know world war one was started by a Bosnian Surb that assisinated the heir to the Austrian/ Hungarian thrown? What a flog!
We head to the other side of the bay and check out the whaling centre but decide to give it a miss.
Now we head for Albanys number one attraction. The gap and Nature’s bridge. The infrastructure is amazing. And the sun has come out. This place is breath taking. When you get to the cantilever out over the gap you grip onto the handrail and take a deep breath. It’s truly special. Then cut across the other side and look at the bridge. I have to drone this joint. What a special end to the day and weeks worth of rain.
Pizza and decanted wine thank you.
