Pancakes and bacon then i check out the facilities. What a step back in time. Quick supply run for tanya and a look at detention river with a walk on the beach at Hellyeah. We get back and high tide has arrived so we can try the paddle feet on the kayak but one set still won’t clip in. Jett and Leo have a go then jett and I have a go. Wind is up and so are the waves so we head back to the creek. It’s a nice lazy day at camp. I have a fire and watch some tennis outside. We finish the calamari for dinner and call it a night.
Thursday the 25th Of January
Smashed avo breakfast.
A walk at rocky Cape to see the cave and lighthouse. Hugo takes a spill down the stairs.
We get back and fix the paddle feet on the kayak and get it in the water. We all have a paddle and swim. This creek is perfect. High winds the whole time we’ve been here and we haven’t really felt it. Apart from all the playing cards being blow off the table.
Nearly depleted all the frozen food which is good. Leo cooks lunch. Jett final gets off his devices and becomes the ring leader in the play ground and starts a wresting competition. The kids play all night into the dark.
Always at the end of the trip JETT.
Friday the 26th of January
Pack up slowly. What a mess we’ve made at Crayfish Creek. We leave by 10.30am headed for Lake side caravan park 15mins out of devenport to track down some platypus. We arrive and luckily there are powered sites available. We unhitch and do the Australian day BBQ for lunch then hit devenport to see the bass straight museum. There is an interactive ship and you can try to sail into Port philip through the heads back in the 1800s. We all sink apart from Leo. Cool museum.
Then we hit the living tree museum. And abotrium just next to the caravan park. Not much luck with the platypus. We need an early night so the family are inside watching movies and I sit outside enjoying my last night in Tasmania. SAD……
