DAY 22 – Devils Marbels to Renner Springs (via Tennant Creek) – Fri 10 Aug

Drive is only 275kms so we start with a 4km hike around the marbles.

This is how they form.

2.

And what happens later.

All the power poles are fabricated from 2 pieces of PFC and plate mild steel . FZ rated.

Lunch in Tennant springs was interesting.

Renner springs is a client yet typical roadhouse caravan park on the way to mataranka.

There is an open air bar with a tv and limited powered drive-thru sites so arrive by 2 p.m.

Situated above a natural spring the tap water is drinkable and very nice with short walks to pools / springs… no swimming.

There is no phone internet reception here.

We chat to other banners that have just left mataranka and get a tip about a cheap non powered camp site in a national park about 10kms from the hot springs. Sorted.

The road trains passing through the night keep waking me and so does the friendly rooster from 5am onwards.

T

his painting is my favorite and so true.
