The drive from Katherin to Nitmiluk takes 30 minutes.
We book in for the 11am boat Cruze that covers the 1st 2 of the 11 gorges at Nitmiluk.
Disembark and do a short 400mm walk to the next boat past 8000 year old cave paintings and a separate tour that includes lunch and swimming. We packed our swimmers but did pick the cruise and swim tour as we were un aware the 1st main gorge had been closed to public swimmers as there has been too many large saltwater crocks trapped there recently. !
Pass the swimming tour. Looks nice.
Onto the 2nd gorge where darell summers famously said ‘you’ll never never know if you never never go’.
It’s amazing. The tour guide drives the boat and gives a very informative narrative all the way.

On the way back were lucky enough to see a fresh water crock sunning itself on a rock.
Picnic lunch and back to katherin for another Barra fish and hot springs dip.
