KING ISLAND – DAY 01

  • I harden up and make it to Essendon airport for the King Island Gold trip. The flight is smooth and short (40mins). We catch a bus for 30mins to Australia’s #1 golf course. Cape Wickham is AMAZING. Were playing Ambrose style and I start with a BANG. We use my 2nd and 3rd shot and hit a birdy to start.   The rest of the day is something I’ll never forget. The weather was perfect. 22 degrees with very light winds. Chewy has a swim on the 18th hole which you can play off the beach if you slice it. We finish the day with Lobster for dinner and carry on with a few single malt whiskeys at the rooms.

KING ISLAND – DAY 02

  • Rough start after a late night. We have a quick breakfast and grab a bus down south. Today were playing Ocean Dunes and WOW. This one is picturesque. Some of the holes are so hidden you could almost hit it backwards. Shots over cliffs and water or up hills. It’s simple beautiful. I struggle a bit but hit an eagle putt about 30meters from the hole. I almost back it up with another but missing by 5mm.  Were all a bit wrecked but have another great day. I’m so hooked on golf right now.
